This is interesting! I am of the humble opinion that branding and identity work should be firmly based on a company´s business and somewhere express the differentiating factors of the same. It is a long process involving hard work ( I know having done it for the last 13 years) and in the end the client should have something that can live and prosper together with the company over a period of time; sometimes for a very long time. I am not very keen on these on-stop-shops at all...but somwhere I can't help thinking that we might over-intellectualize our profession. I know that I am swearing in church right now but it is an intriguing thought. Maybe we put the label "strategic" on our proffession just to improve value on our work when it is all about creative interpretations! We're artists and what we do is taking in our client's wishes and then deliver upon them...like a good brand-fairy... Once again I am sorry if I upset anyone...all I want to do is play with the thought of it.
